‘If anyone anything like me can perform it, they are able to get it done,’ states Glenn Courchene
A residential college survivor in Manitoba whom received their highschool diploma the other day states he hopes to encourage other people to believe within their training objectives.
«Now I am able to show that the elder just like me could graduate. If anyone it, they can do it,» 61-year-old Glenn Courchene said like me can do.
Courchene is Anishinaabe from Sagkeeng First Nation, positioned 100 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
He received his senior high school diploma from the Empower Adult Education Centre, into the neighbouring community of Pine Falls, Man., on Nov. 18.
Courchene made the dedication in February 2019 to get their school that is high diploma.
«we wished to return to college and I also desired to complete my education, what exactly used to do had been we encouraged myself to think in myself,» he stated.
Being kid, he went to the Fort Alexander Indian Residential class in Manitoba for eight years beginning into the 1960s.
